Why is it necessary to submit?Pencil & Notebook

Can't I just send in a check? Don't independent editors take on everything? No. A screening process is required to determine whether Third Draft services are a match for the needs of your current project.

 

What to submit…

Third Draft specializes in works of fiction.

Submissions are accepted worldwide from authors of suspense, thrillers, mystery, historical, fantasy, mainstream, YA and literary fiction.

 

What NOT to submit…

Poetry, non-fiction, picture books, science fiction or horror.

 

Does Third Draft work with new, previously unpublished authors?

Yes, all the time.

 

Contacting Third Draft…

Authors may submit the first 5 pages of their novel along with either a synopsis or an outline. Please include the word “submission” in the subject line of your email. No reading fees are charged at any time.

Please note that while every e-submission sent to Third Draft is promptly read, due to the volume of e-mails received, Third Draft will respond only when editorial services appear to be a match for your work.
